Any newer wiper motors won't work, im lookign for one for my 85.

where are you located? why not? The plug different? Just a matter of splicing a newer pug?

The armature is different. The one from the new one comes out too much, I tried but it would make the wipers not sway as it would lock up half way through.

Have you tried switching them (the arms on the motor)?

I made a 04 wiper motor fit in my 88 notch.
