Anybody ever get a gain in mph or ET from this? I'm considering removing my tailpipes/mufflers at the track to see if it's worth anything.
Does it work for any of you guys?
btw I currently run Borla XR-1 mufflers so I don't expect much but you never know.

You will lose about 5hp and 4lbs of torque depending on setup. Check the december issue of 5.0. But you never know the wieght loss might make up for it. never hurts to try.

I bet I'd gain. But....totaly different setup. Gained 3mph from the off-road H over the catted X. & I bet there's more in it.

2psi backpressure? Yeah! 3mph so far. Boost is still at 8psi, but creeps to 10 instead of 9.5 by 6K.
Maybe I should just set it at 10psi & be done with it.

Pulled the plugs while I was doing the exhaust swap. Plugs looked better then any other time I've pulled them.
No audible ping & Byron said the off-road wouldn't effect the Maf tune. I made no timing or FP changes....it didn't need it.
Hey Mark, how about we slap the 150 jet in your ride...

When I have the money for a new motor, 150 will be to small
Lets see what that bad boy will run with 10psi skinnies and some et streets. Should be a badass 10sec 93 cobra.

You are comparing apples to oranges, (my driving to yours).
I would bet that you can match the ET I posted easily due to my piss poor 60ft times and even get the MPH I posted due to the fact that I have only even sat in you car twice.
But for referance, the last time when you had a higher MPH then me you handed me your keys with a week clucth that you had already made a few passes on, or did you want to forget about that?

I HAVE to hit an 11 before you drive it agian! & I'm sure the MPH will go up. You're a GREAT driver....but I think the idiot light (shift light) will help me get more out of it. Hell, just not bogging off the line will pop up the MPH.
We'll see.... You may be in the driver seat come 4/12...

Man, you saw me go 11.9 with a HORRIBLE 2.1 60ft. You have that 11 second pass coming on your next time to the track if not your very next pass.

All in due time. I just realized I'm busted broke. So, no track time for a while. Probably the next time out will be for Grudgenight on 4/12.
Joe, how much more weight did you take out searching for that 11 second pass???
Looks like torque box re-inforcments are going in before the next track outing too.

I think running ~ 190#'s less than stock weight is fair when comparing to a twice turbo'd stroker

Your coupe weighed 2960 stock!?! Slap my motor in your coupe & you'd be running 10's at 130mph.

give me 125 mph traps and I'll show you 10's
2960 was less jack/spare, 1/8 tank. Throw me in there and my stock weight was ~ 3160.

that's not what I'm saying, I just think my car's weight balance allows some pretty good hook. I'm sure I'd be the 13 second man in your car

Seems like just somemore useless weight, or are you planning on running some slicks? As far as I know you don't have enought tire to even worry about TQ boxes
edit: don't forget....i NEED 400 rwhp [ March 31, 2003, 07:59 PM: Message edited by: Yellow94GT ]
