Topic: side exhaust vs turn downs from mufflers

Hey guys, so I have a full MagnaFlow setup on my gt and I wanna go a different route. I have a off road x pipe and 4 inch tips and although I love the sound she makes I was thinking of doing either turn downs from the mufflers or doing a side exhaust. What do you guys think?

If you've never had turndowns before, you'll like the tone for a little while, but if you drive it daily you might get tired of the drone and fumes. Don't get me wrong, I love the sound of turndowns any day...and as for side exhaust, I don't have any experience with them but I'm not much of a fan IMO. ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif)

Usually with a fox side exhaust is hard to pull off, but it is better for daily driving. Turn down are good for fox gt, and the lx always looks better with tips. In your case I would go dumped.

Turn down. I just did mine about. 2 weeks ago. Everyone said ide get annoyed by the drone and what not. I love the way it sounds. No drone really. Sounds great i recommend it. All i have is bbk headers, bbk o/r hpipe and 2 chamber flows with turn downs. Sounds gooooooood!! ![[worship]](graemlins/worship.gif)

i got a ton of votes for the turn downs, its for my 97 gt, i have a video on youtube of when i first put the pipe on, doesnt sound exactly like it, especially since there is wind, but its pretty close

id like side exhaust but i would want to put on the svo side skirts, although thats a 400 dollar investment id like to save for when i get a 98 bab cobra. if you guys have some sound clips for me id truly appreciate it! thanks guys

I have turn downs because of the panhard bar. I hate them. I wish I could put in tail pipes. It's the fumes...

Had those with my 96 gt 2v and after with 97cobra motor they sounded nice was not loud at all with my prochamber as mid pipe. sitting in traffic fumes can get to you.
