I have a question For you bikers on here. What is considered high mileage on a bike?

Say a car has 150k on it what would be the equivalent in motorcycle miles. Looking at yamahas and ducatis.

Depends on the make model and year honestly. Harley's and v-twins in General can go a lot of miles with little hiccups like a car. However the inline 4's from crotch rockets always named or are best maintained by always doing valve adjustments and changing this that and the other type deal.

If you want a nice crotch rocket but your price range is suited for high mileage bikes look for something with a lot of maintenance records

My 04 yamaha fz1 had 109k ran great, rode everyday ,started every morning, crashed twice...now its gone
If your not into crotch rockets or harleys you cant go wrong with an fz1 its a mixture of sport bike and off road ,kinda like an enduro with minimal plastics...
Lol i didnt fit in with the sport bikes, ducatis,or travel bikes with cases on the back, owell i just comuted...

But yea a sport bike 20k, most ussually have 10k...
Its best to get watercooled engine imo as it lasted for me,109k and wohld gone alot more

My boy had an 03 R1. He put 100k miles on his Yamaha. I don't remember how much he sold it for.

Yamahas must be good because I had a buddy with 45-50k on his R1 and it ran smooth as silk. I had a cbr 900RR with 28k and kawi zx7 with 30 on it. If the bike hasn't been dropped they can go a long ways.

Cool thanks for the info! Im going to hold off the purchase right now and look for something with low mileage or just buy new and take care of it myself, im very meticulous when it comes to taking care of cars im sure ill be the same way with bikes.

I thought they could only last up to 30k miles but now that I know they could last more I see myself getting one for a commuter to let the stang chill.

Like others have said, really depends on the bike. Honda VFRs and Goldwings can do 100k easy with basic maintenance. I've seen Harleys creep into the 50k-60k range pretty regularly on the factory guts.
