Snowboarding/skiing is out for me since I've got a messed up knee. Was possibly thinking of looking for a snowmobile rental but I don't think I'll do that all day. Definitely wanted to go see the snow though since it just dumped... FINALLY. Any other suggestions?

I was actually thinking of hiking because I can brace the knee, and it's low impact. But nights are brutal and I want to make sure I know where I'm going, so if I go, it'll have to be a well-traveled and known trail. Are snow shoes required for winter hiking?

Shouldn't be. But I wouldn't go hiking in the snow with a bad knee. What's the snow level like up there after that big storm? theres tons of guides online to the trails around Tahoe.

dinner boat cruise http://www.zephyrcove.com/tahoequeen.aspx
We've gone a few times. Dinner was good and atmosphere is fun. They have live music so the band varies each time.
Last one we did in April 2013 and it snowed the last half of the cruise.
The drink are expensive as expected. But a very fun and chill cruise. They have shuttle service to and from most casinos.

Thanks for the suggestions. That cruise sounds cool, not sure I'm going to do it quite yet.
