hate those big ass supports, so I came up with this idea all home made

Wouldn't those pivot points allow the shock towers to move?

Looks awesome. I was going to do the same thing, except for the firewall brace make and upper and lower bracket and sandwich the heims in. [ 2013-07-05, 09:52 PM: Message edited by: wilit ]

That's funny. I almost posted something about hacking those off and running a later style support. Those being welded on ( As you must have found ) are a total pain in the ass. Why ford did that I'll never know LOL. Cars looking great. Can't wait to see the pics with the base & clear on it. You still doing the black/red combo?

Nope. When you bolt them down they can only pivot from side to side but they don't move forward and back. I've seen some kits that use quick release pins so you can remove them easier for popping of your valve covers & stuff.

looks good! are you going to make a tower to tower brace? those flimsy things spread just jacking the car up. also cant tell but i had to make the firewall bracket out of angle or else the loads would just bend that lip up or down.

You mean like the street or track brace kit?

Thanks. Ya I'm gonna still go with red and black. My paint showed up yesterday. I think I'm gonna run a bar across the middle as well
