My 91 vinyl top went bad, so i swapped out the entire frame and vinyl top from a 93, and transplanted it onto my 91 chassis. All good it bolts right up, and latches closed, etc...

well, i left a tool in the well and went to drop the top into the well, and shattered the rear glass. Now im stuck with looking for a rear glass window.

found one on CL, off an 89. Come to find out its too short (by that i mean, when the rear glass is in and zipped up top, the bottom part that bolts to the body does not reach...and that is with the top up and latched closed)now, if i go to install the rear window by giving slack on the top, it will bolt up to the body no problem but then the top cannot close/reach the top of the windshield by 3 inches...like i said, too short...

searched and found a rear window off a 93 (assumed it will fit since i had a 93 top)...again too short! Now im thinking since my car is a 91, maybe ill try that year, so i found one that came off a 91, and it seems the correct length, however i have not put it on physically, just a quick measurement from zipper to body. yet to install this weekend...

is this an issue any of you fox vert owners had? have you ever had to replace your rear window with another from a different year and it didnt fit, or did, or any adjustments, etc?? ive been told its the same for all years, but 50resto (see pic) sells them uncut (bottom vinyl) so im assuming its a cut-to-fit application and you use your old plastic tack rail thats needed to secure the lower to the body.

 -

need some firsthand confirmation on this, because i really dont think they are all the same...or i need to adjust my tops frame forward or backward even though it sits even all around??

thanks for any help.

Unfortunately convertible tops are not a 1 size fits all type deal. 83-89 convertible parts are different from the 90-93 convertible parts and they are not interchangeable with one another... Another thing to think about is they window size, seams, zipper etc bcz they will vary in sizes from manufacturer to manufacturer. and there are alot of different companies so compatibility is usually hit or miss with trying to make different vert parts work together. i would reccomend trying to get a replacement window from wherever u got ur top from, contact them directly.

top is from a member here, he parts out cars...he gave me the rear window, and it fit when i installed the top/frame onto my 91...i need that exact length rear window, but i cant seem to find it [Mad]

my last resort is 50resto's rear window for 160, but i hope it doesnt go that route...
