I think the man is talking about those phones back in the day that flipped open and are now used by most of peoples children as a toy haha

Unlike these guys I understand what your talking about. If you work construction or in a environment where a smart phone could easily break than a flip phone is perfect. Sturdy and answers calls by an easy flip. Try answering a call on your iPhone with work gloves on and let me know how that goes.

i use some go phone i got for 20 bucks that i use for att
the battery last for 4-5 days and works fine for what i need it for and i can throw it at a wall and wont break

Your missing the fact that the hood phone is not kept for lack of paying the price of a smart phone bro. The hood phone is kept for lack of wanting to pay for the high monthly bill required for a smart phone by these POS providers ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)
I've actually thought of down grading to a dumb phone since the bill is like $30 difference. For the OP, you can check on Craigslist there's small businesses on there that sell dumb phones in good conditions for like $50 bucks.. ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif)

way i see it is this: cheapest verizon plan that i could see was $40 for the data plan, plus $60 for the cheapest phone/text plan. factor in the tax/fees, i'd guess it'd be around (if not above) $110 per month ..... which is $1320/yr (ironic i guess)
i got on a family plan w/ sister and brother in law, with a non-smart phone, which added $20 to the plan. I add $5/month to cover taxes, so my year-long bill is $300......or, over $1000 less than buying a smart phone
that was the way i justified buying my ipad last month

exactly!! the phone companies are jus bending us over...making it harder and harder to have a regular phone...there are making it so we all have to have data..fuck paying another 30 a month just for that... id be down for having a i phone but just using wifi when i needed but that isnt allowed..its funny to me how its the (norm) and im strange for not having one..they have really sold it to us americans. haha i even got hated on at the club.. (eww you have a ghetto phone!) hahaha

I Just decided I had enough of paying $85 a month for a phone bill, and I'm willing to pay the cancellation fee. My back in 2002 my 2000 Camaro M6 car payment was $219 dollars. Feels like my phone bill is a third of a car payment. Yahama has a special right now for 2012 R6's for 149 a month (10% down or so). In a nutshell, my phonebill was half of a motorcycle payment (laymen's term)
