As posted earlier I picked up a 67 camaro well less than a month after owning it I took it apart.
Yes I know I have a problem but it just needed something more
Old Combo 350 with minor bolt ons
In 10 hrs exactly I took the engine, transmission, driveshaft, differential, front suspension, rear suspension, steering linkage and steering box.
Plans are fuel injection with a little extra hp(aluminum heads different cam stealth ram intake), overdrive transmission(ATO built 700rf), ford 8.8 rear with 3.55s, Hotchkins tvs suspension, edelbrock shocks, all new steering components, quick ratio steering box, 13" brakes up front and 12" out back and of course vintage air system. With work I have to wrench on it anytime I get a chance. Looking to finish it less than a month after starting the tear down. Well at least have it in running condition. We all know tunning on conversions sometiimes takes time dial in.

For me it's cheaper easier and better to do an 8.8
stock 10 bolt is 8.2 or you can get a nova 8.5.
12 bolt is 8.875 it's the same size and strenght except cheaper for me because I have access to all the tools needed to make it work.
I spent 100 on a housing with 3.55 gears. Rebuilt my posi for free. Already had the axles. Chevy ends were free. New bearings/seals at cost. I can't go wrong.
There is always a method to my madness.

I said it sounds stupid "I have a 67 maro with a ford 8.8" like saying I have a 455 olds in a ss 454 Chevelle. No ones questioning your reasoning don't get bent outta shape over it

I'm not bent out of shape just questioning your logic here. So you agree with a 9" FORD but not an 8.8

Yea 9" is by far the best obviously or else everybody wouldn't run them. As much aftermarket parts there is for a 67 camaro theres a ton of bolt in 9" available. But it's your car your build. Nice car best camaro body style hands down

actually I float around on a lot of the more "classic" car sites and the 8.8 rear end in a camaro is more common then people think.
