To whoever helped me out with what happened to my car yesterday. Junkyard5.0 was dead on and I was texting John at Duncan motors the whole time asking about if the smog pump pulley should be able to turn freely. But cobra93 helped marks93 war ready to come pick me up if I was stranded which was awesome and anybody else who had a solid opinion about my circumstance.
And to triple b. I don't know you you dont me so I'm not going to keep going back in forth. Let's not be n8 and Rascirx lol
And neither of us want to look like super stupid chevelle.

I was the same sound my caddi made when the smog pump froze up on me but didnt want anyone to know I had a GM product.I was young and the whole low rider thing was in so you know i had to have one.But i did still have a ford in the garage my maverick.

I knew it was the seized smog pump! ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif) The same thing happened to me once while testing out my boys car, I was worried thinking I fucked his shit up when it shut off and it made that nasty ass screeching noise.

but hey what happened ur pump froze? where was u stuck at? i didnt even know that was u textin me, for some reason ur phone # wasnt saved in my phone but i got it now. at first i was like dam am i like a national dictionary of info lol, and then i kinda figured u knew me, glad it was u. and put the hammer down youll get in trouble for hate crime against special needs folks lol. he just really wants to be loved and doesnt know how to play well with others. but some how an some where hes alright i say.

So yea back to the important shit. I pulled the pump off and replaced the spark plugs with autolite 26's because this dude put champions in it.....any ways I still need to figure out what else to remove because I still have the flange to the pump all open. On my old lx it was deleted all the way to the crossover tube but this 79 is a whole new world like Aladdin lol. I put all the vacuume lines on refilled the radiator and she fired right up no noises. Now I just need to figure what belt I can run with no smog pump with ac. I been researching that it's roughly a 73.5 inch belts but I forgot what rib count stock 5.0's have so I said I would come back.. Any ways I can't wait to be done rebuilding my extra motor for my efi swap. I'll be happy then lol. Oh and on a special note today was me and my ladies 2 year 3 month anniversary an sadly she had work and I was going a clients car and our notch. But I took some time out and tought her how to gap spark plugs. She did them perfect to but she kept jamming her thumb on the plug lol. Any ways we don't have kids and no one tought me how to work on cars ever so it was really cool to see someone I love learning/doing what I taught them.

lol thats cool man! my main guy that works for me, well his girl be working on cars to. she did some spark plugs on one of those 96 camaros v8s all by her self lol. i was like telling him dont be slackin cause she might get a job lol

The way I figured out my belt size was by using a string N put it thru everything then marked it N measured the string with a tape measure N subtracted 1" so it won't be loose since I didn't move the tension on the tensioner it was fully extended.

+1 on the string to measure it. or use a old belt, cut it and route it and mark it with a sharpie, then measure how long it is. and get one.
and they are 6 rib belts.
