So should I trade my sn95 gt for a 97 cobra... my car has H/C/I and is really clean. 03 Cobra interior, convetible top from 03 and 03 cobra brakes.

The 97 cobra mods are:
Paxton NOVI 2000 Supercharger with complete
Paxton intercooler system
-15x3.5 and 15x8 weld drag lites on 165R15 and
275/60/15 tires
-Magnaflow exhaust
-CAI
-373 gears
-Autometer gauges and tachometer
-42# injectors
And some other stuff.

The BADS are it is not running due to a spun bearing...now I have an 03 cobra shortblock. Could I just bolt this in and be ready to roll? Thoughts, comments negative positive ALL WELCOME!!

Only reason I was even considering is due to the lack of power... I was going to put a T70 turbo kit on the gt this summer but really want to hit at least 550RWHP without worrying about splitting my block... off topic now but would a balanced forged crank/pistons and rods let me hit my mark? [Confused]

To answer your question , Yes it would but it would only be a matter of time before it goes. If you stay pushrod get an old 70's Mexican 302 block . They pretty strong.

Is that a302jugernauts old vert ?

Btw I seen that cobra in Los Angoles CL for 5500 , it seems like it would be worth looking at if he would come down in price . The Novi 2000 is $3500 new so it has some good going for it.

Yea, started making some changes tho! lol, like raising it! 302jugernaut wasn't kidding when he said it was slammed! [patriot] Honestly I would rather keep my car because its very clean and taken care of I just need to know what I can do to the block to handle 550rwhp reliably?? What makes the terminator block so much stronger? They're both cast iron right? [patriot]

They are virtually two different species of Motors... Basically what allows a terminator bottom end to handle 550 plus hp is the design. It has thicker cylinder walls, forged pistons designed for boost.etc etc... If you want make that kind of reliable power through a pushrod motor, you would be best getting a dart 4 bolt main block with a forged rotating assembly. Hit up CornOil&Boost, he can give you the detailed info you are looking for.

Thanks A lot! That's pretty much the info I was looking for...now just have to sell this cobra shortblock so I can buy that dart! No rush, going to take my time with this build. I want to do it right. [patriot]

In ur situation, I'd trade.. U already have the block an the power adder is on the car. So basically if u build ur car then u gotta build a motor and buy a power adder.. Seems like the cheapest/best way to go is the cobra. Just my 2 cents

That's why I was considering since I already have the shortblock ready to go. Just bolt on tune and should be good to go.... I would only come out of pocket $500 for the tune(approx.)

But OH WELL, he didn't want to trade...no verts apparently. It's all good I guess I'll just slap a turbo on my 5.0 and chill with 450rwhp for a while and see what happens. I'm hoping the block will be good for 450. From what I've researched it should be fine.... thanks for all the input gentlemen.
