Ill start it off with my truck:
1999 f-350, 7.3 powerstroke. wanted a regular cab with a shortbed, so since ford didnt make one I did. truck spent its life as an old contractor rig, but its construction days are over.

I'm pretty sure they made them because I've worked on sevral 7.3 powerstrokes single cab shortbed... They just weren't big in demand. [ February 22, 2012, 12:31 AM: Message edited by: 02angrybird ]

Well lets make it easy, ford of north america never made a regular cab with a 6' bed. there a few companies that do conversions though. get a pic of the ones at your work, ill bet there 8' beds..lol if not thats pretty cool, i love mine, pretty quick and well over 20 mpg (well when im being good anyhow...lol) just wouldnt make sense for a contractor.

Sure, I can post up some pics from the frame portion of the work. fuel, brake, and driveshaft all have to be shortened, you also need a shortbed fuel tank and pump assembly. You have to make one fuel tank strap a little longer, no biggie. if i remember correctly it was 17" i took out from a straight section of frame rail behind cab. if you layout your cuts correctly the shortbed will bolt right on in the old longbed holes. The rear section of both frames are the same. i used a Z cut to allow for more weld and strength, then plated it after.
