I did a satin black on my old Lincoln ls about a year ago using summit racing's in house brand. About 90 bucks for a gallon of single stage. Came out pretty good for a garage job. Couldn't tell you about the durability, as I traded her in for my mustang about 4 months later, but I hear great reviews about the stuff. Only problem is you have to drive it back from sparks because its not CA legal paint. Just a thought if you want to do a more permanent paintjob for cheap in the future. Car looks good though man

Just the summit paint due to the chemicals in it or whatever, you know how these tree huggers out here are

What he means is that summit racing WILL NOT ship any paint products to California because of the chemical make up. I tried ordering some paint materials from summit a while back and they simply stated what I said above. It suck because a gallon of Dupont clear goes for like $500 bucks and the summit stuff is like 100-150. [ January 15, 2012, 07:01 PM: Message edited by: RONIN ]

Exactly what I meant. I was quoted about $1100 for materials here in sac at the time, I happened to be heading out there for hot August nights anyways and stumbled across summit's display Booth. Got all my materials for less than $200, so that trip payed for itself!

Lol what's funny is all u did was ruin the paint on ur car! Rustolium paint is OIL based! U can not spray any other paint on that car ever again! It will react and bubble or separate through the new paint! Oil based paints are not made for cars, so whoever paints ur car next is gonna have to take a Bondo Hogg and strip your whole car down to metal to ever put real paint on it!
But yes I have seen others do it and it does come out clean, looks good but ruins the car for painting it later on, most do it to sell the car! So buyer beware!
