2 days of work, (I did the R&R myself) $2k to get the trans rebuilt and fully beefed up...
and it flares going into 4th and surges at 55mph ![[Frown]](frown.gif)
if it has to come out again I'm hoping the trans shop will do it for me, it's like a 4 hour job to remove or replace this damn thing. I don't know if the truck being a 2 door makes it harder, but the transfer case is a bitch to get in/out around the torsion bar crossmember.
And to top it all off, when the trans originally went my wife was going down the freeway with it and didn't realize what was going on...it lost 4th, then 3rd going up a steep incline, and she continued on giving it enough gas to keep it in 2nd until the trans got so hot it locked up and stalled the engine.
apparently that bent a pushrod or broke a rocker because it has a wicked rocker tap going on that I'm going to check out once I have some lunch.

That blows man my kuzin has the exact same truck, it has blown that tranny up 2-3 times! And had it redone at the same shop. I assumed it was from bad craftsmanship @ the shop at first aparently not....
Now im starting to think its the same prob on that trucks model and year probly a factory defect ![[Confused]](confused.gif)

pulled both valve covers, no carnage backed off all the rockers and reset them...no difference.
I guess it developed a rod knock? Fucking awesome, I would have just scrapped the truck and not wasted $2k on a new transmission if I had known.

Cut open your oil filter, maybe you spun a bearing

Starting to think the flexplate is cracked.
won't have time to look at it until this weekend probably though, today was my last day off of my vacation.
watched a few videos online and it sounds exactly like this one (minus the supercharger)
