The "imported 46mm" waste gate sounds weird to me along with the "imported bov" those sound like potential weak spots. Besides the turbo it comes down to quality of the tubing and hardware

im sure the on3 wouldnt be any better..i would be upgrading to a tial wastegate regardless or is this worth a 1000$ more?..this is the reason ive been leaning towards and s trim..i know a turbo will make more power but i dont want to deal with any bs..

Ask over in corral or the turboforums. They either love them or hate them. If u do go on3 just upgrade the turbo to a master power. On the other hand i've heard nothing but good things about the B&G kits. I personally have a Pony Down kit.

If you plan on upgrading the wastgate and bov then i wouldnt worry. the two kits are prolly very similar in design and quality. Obviously the wastgate is more important than the bov.
Of topic I think it's funny how they offer a kit for an Lsx swap but not a 4.6 swap

JaeJae, I hope this turbo kit works out for you brother!
I'm holding my breath to see if you end up with a fast car OR a car that is never on the road due to always being broken. Hopefully it's not the latter.
Best of luck.

thanks luke ive been feeding my brain from the turboforums and the corral..if i cant decide it will be a s trim or something of that nature with a blower brace and 10#s..should be good for 400-450..the motor that ive have is golden and pretty much brand new

Sorry to thread jack jaejae but is there a way to run that jegs kit but lower hp/trq it says like 400-500hp on stock motor, im only wanting like 330hp also wouldnt that be also safer because of its cheaper made parts.
Right now rear wheel im pushn 218hp 297trq in my 89
I really dont wanna do the heads,&cam set up just throw a cheap turbo in but run on the lower output of it. [ December 30, 2011, 02:09 AM: Message edited by: Stangn5oh ]

There's no need to upgrade the bov's or wastegates for the power you're looking at with either if those kits....they will do fine for less than 750rw...
And the b&g imported kit is basically the on3 kit...
Just do the on3 with an upgraded master power...some heat wrap for the down, run some head studs, keep the boost down.since you're iron headed, get a good tune and you'll be fine...
You've been talking about this for over a year...get it done and get the car out there [ December 30, 2011, 03:15 AM: Message edited by: CornOil_&_Boost ]

Spoken from first hand knowledge not some internet hype or magazine article.
I have real world experience with these kits too and they have their issues but they aremt major enough to spend an extra 1-2k on another turbo kit that has its issues as well.

^^^ where did this hypothesis come from? I know I don't have a turbo car but my truck is turbo'd and i have a lot of mods and it pulls 50# of boost it's the most street able thing untill that turbo spools. I would imagine a 5.0 wouldn't be much different unless you have a radical cam and a spool

Urbocharging puts less stress on an engine as far as I know..no side loading on the crank and bearing #1..although done properly either one shouldnt be a problem as far as being reliableT

Turbo FTW! My car drives like stock, till I get on it and u hear the turbo spool. Plus turbos sound sick when spooling

^This.
I would also invest in a turbo timer. It will help extend the life of the turbo. [ December 30, 2011, 11:59 AM: Message edited by: Boss 327 ]
