Crossfit and crossfit style workouts are all I did in my academy. My team at work just started an 8 week Crossfit routine for our on-duty workouts. We did two baselines this past week and on Saturday, we will be doing the third and final baseline called "Fight Gone Bad". At the end of 8 weeks we will do it again to see how much we have improved.
Personally, I hate the workouts. I've always been a fan of old fashion weightlifting, but Crossfit truly works for overall lifetime fitness. The workouts are short, very intense and are full range of movement exercises. You can go to http://www.crossfit.com/ and get the WOD. A lot of WOD's are named after service members who have been killed.
