Does anyone know a website to check what's in your credit for free? Any help would be appreciated.

Freecreditreport.com
You can check all 3 reporting agencies for free once a year. They don't give you your FICO score though. That you typically need to pay for.

What are you trying to buy? Different loans use different scores...
The scores I know of are FICO,vantage, score power, plus score...
The free annual report you get for free doesn't have an actual score. The "free" scores you see advertised are usually way off

I want to fix my credit and I know I have some collections on my credit. I want to know what it is so I can work with them to fix it.

Here's some advice...
Go to the annual cradit report (its completly free no credit card required) get the free report. Any collections will be on there with contact info. Call them and offer to pay if they remove the negative info from your credit file immediately. Make sure you get everything in writing, don't take their word. Don't pay anyone to help you or go to credit repair agency they will just take your money and it will take you longer to pay.
Try and pay one collection a month or settle with them for less. Collection companies are hurting and will most likely settle.
