I don't know anything about computers.
I'm going on a little trip, and was looking to pick up a decent laptop and was going to fill a external hard drive with a thousand movies etc.

What would be your reccomendation for something like that?
Not really into computer gaming or anything like that, more into wanting to watch movies off an external hard drive.

I don't want to spend a fortune, but at the same time would rather buy good products so I don't have to worry about it breaking right after buying/replacing

Any info would be greatly appreciated, as I have absolutely no idea what a good computer consists of.
Thanks

Western digital, seagate, barracuda, all good brands.

Check tigerdirect.com or newegg.com for a deal on a portable HD. Seen a 2 TB (2,000,000 MB) HD for $59. And if your going to watch off of it, look for one with a 10k RPM speed HD not a 7200.

That for a harddrive
And if u just want a cheap laptop hit up bestbuy or walmart, they have some pretty cheap computers that aren't too bad hen it comes to performance for the price.

Cheap is kinda a moot point, computers are VERY much like cars(how much money you have will result in how fast you wanna go. Its the same here. Depending on the performance you want price will be a direct correlation

if you can wait 2 days for delivery or so, I'd recommend these deals -

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834127452

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148569

the laptop has a very modern set of components and a dedicated video card so you can watch high def movies without a hiccup, the external drive is reliable (seagate) and is powered by the USB cable, so you don't need to plug it into anything other than the laptop.
