I remember reading something about DMV registration fees dropping off after so many years of a vehicle being out of the system. Any truth to that? Anyone know how many years? Thanks

Usually after 7-10 years it may or may not drop from the system. It really is up to the clerk you get and the mood he/she is in.

Damn $585! This vehicle I'm looking at hasn't been registered since 2004. I hope the fees aren't 5-600!
I'm going to shoot 50deep a pm
I hope that's the case and it has dropped off! All I know is we have some straight up assholes working at the DMV in Santa Rosa. They are always rude.

^ The Santa Rosa DMV is pretty nice. The guy who tested me for my CDL was cool.

Yea the seller tried telling me something about asking the person at the DMV about giving me a discount or something? Something like they don't advertise this but if asked they will knock a hundred or 2 off... Anyone have any experience with this?
