F'n Blows!! Was driving down A st. In hayward last night and seen some lights and cones which I thought was construction..as I got closer, I realized it was a checkpoint..it was too late to turn around, I was fucked..had 20+ cops standing there watching me as my car idled in line for checkpoint..highway patrol sergeant came running up telling me to shut the car off, pop the hood an get out..I knew I was done for sure..they went through the car for about 20 min..told me how I'm making it hard for people to breathe by driving a car like that..lol, wow! As if that's the biggest problem this city, state an country is facing..anyway got a ticket for illegal emissions after all that..coulda been worse I guess, coulda towed it but what am I looking at for those who have got state reffed?

You basically have to have carb numbers for everything, smog equipment present and functional, as well as cats for your exhaust. They want your car pretty much stock.

anyway sorry to hear bro, i been state ref'd plenty of times, but luckily my shit is pretty much smog legal all i do is swap the h pipe and the cold air.....but im sure u can pay it tho i dont know how much it is tho

nah one time I almost got my chp inpounded but the cop ave me a break, I told him I as in lunch which I was and told him I couldnt find a ride late at night so I had to drive pull the stang out...after 20 minutes and checking my record he let me go... best day ever after all

Sorry to hear phil. Ida just pulled over and sat there. Had someone come pick me up and get the car tomorrow.
From what I recall on your setup there's no way to you will pass the state ref iinspection. Probably just have to pay without correction and think about changing your exhaust setup

Is there a 3 strike law on this stuff? I've heard a rumor if u get state reffed 3 times they take your car for good..anyone know if that's true?

Last time i got state ref was because my exhaust was too loud and i had a cold air intake aswell. So i just payed $500.
My car had no cats and I had slps. Im pretty sure you can just go to court and tell em you want to pay the fine..Good luck ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif)

That sucks.. CA is getting rediculous with that stuff. I never seen a checkpoint, do they stop all cars or ones they think are illegal?
I'd love to pull into a checkpoint. I'm pretty much stock with stock exhaust from factory with close to 400 rwhp.. They can't do anything to me so it would be fun.

I see them around from time to time, they always set up in an area where you can't turn around or get out of it either. My friend who's a smog tech said a friend of his got sent to the ref over blue plastic hose and wire covering shit. A friend of mine got sent to the ref with his 56 F100 truck too, cops are a joke when it comes to that shit so don't think you won't get sent in even though you are stock.

Bro I've been reffed twice in the last two years one with a nitrous bottle and all. Just forfit the fine and pay it was 600 both times. Plus 200 the one time for the nitrous bottle
