yeah thats obvious..but you can only do soo much with cutting weight.. how much power is needed?looks like alot to me?

I would say an other 200hp.
To have an even weight to hp rating the cobra needs 600hp.

looks like they are saying it will take about 625-650 rwhp just to keep up with a z06... looks like i wont be getting a gt500 now.

Stock for stock i dont think a z06 can be compared to a GT500.Maybe a GT40/Ford GT,would be more appropriate.And as far as the GTR walking the dog on everyone........i didnt expect that ![[Confused]](confused.gif) .

Yeah, but your still buying 90-100K cars, compared to a 50K Mustang. I would be ok with having 40K in my pocket, and being 1 sec behind a Gt-r.

Im sure with a pulley,tune and a few small but choice mods the GT500 would probably hang.Plus youd have a backseat that your two favorite midgets could ride in!

for the price compared to the other two, its still a great car to have but im still dissapointed...115 trap?? thats just all bad. even tho its heavy, the gtr was the same weight and it was still able to trap at 122. gtr is obviously underrated which is always kool!
i do agree with you 50daddy cuz a gt500 and a corvette is just in two different car types and leagues. ones chassis was made to be a daily compact sports car and the other chassis was just built purely for the track.

It doesn't really matter though. None of you guys are ever going to drive a stock car for long. I am not sure why they are even comparing these cars. The Z06 and GTR are sport cars...not exactly the same category as a four seater muscle car.
I am all for the having a ford win, but if they are talking top of the line why didn't they use the ZR1 package for the vette?

there was an article from 5.0 mustang mag that compared a pulley, intake, exuast, and tune 03 cobra against the same mods with a 07gt500 and it completely outran the 03 cobra. after the usual 03 mods it came to about 470 but with the gt500, it came to 590. it trapped at 124 which is deff enough to keep up with c6 z06's. 03 was at 116.
but maybe its diff with every car idk. heres a link for you gt500 pple...

If you're wondering how fast a car is and how it compares to others. It comes down to power:weight ratio, simple.
Aren't they right at 3,900lbs!? That's 80lbs heavier than my stupid 4 door caddi....
