Looks nice, but is the owner saying its salvaged? The owner would probably get more money parting that thing out. Who's buying a salvaged v6/fobra for 25K?

I am not sure a Salvaged title would matter in something like that.
People restore Salvaged classics all the time. Hell my Fastback might have been considered in Salvaged condition.

The value has nothing to do with it. It's the title. I don't want a salvage title. If your fine with a salvage title that's cool. But I'll never own a salvage titled car. Ever.

Doesn't matter to me why it's salvaged either. Sometimes they have theft salvage or water damage in which case the frame is perfectly fine and everything is repairable. Still, I don't want a salvage title. Just me.

I feel where you are coming from.. I would never personally buy a salvage title car.. The only car I would own salvage is my current car, if I ever did somehow make it salvage, its currently clean.. I dumped to much into this car to let it get taken from me.. and that doesn't mean money.. It's a first mustang kind of love thing [Big Grin]

Salvage doesn't necessarily mean it was previously obliterated in a crash. Since it was a 01 V6 its KBB/NADA value was probably pretty low; with labor costs nowadays the insurance company probably found it a safer bet to pay out the KBB value of the vehicle than risk finding additional damage during repairs which may match/meet its blue book value. Hell, a simple bumper cover paint/replacement is easily over $1k these days.

Very nicely done car. However the reality is that you can pick up a nicely modded "real" terminator with a clean title for the same price.

and you'd be able to have it fully insured, no insurance company is going to touch that car with anything but liability coverage.

False, it is possible to insure a salvaged titled vehicle with comprehensive/collision coverage.

To add to this; in this particular case you would likely get payout based on the VIN of the car (01 V6) which wouldn't be anything close to what you'd pay for the car of course. It is possible to add additional coverage for "customizations" but tell an insurance company you've swapped out to a 400+hp motor in a V6 Mustang and there's a possibility they may not want to touch it lol.

Glad you read it. It was declared a total loss, since then was verified by frame shop the be 100% intact & unbent. Aswell no original panels are left on that car and it's a real Cobra. Nothing fake about it besides the vin and all that needs is to be BAR'd. Cars easily worth 25k+

And I'd like to note that for those that are saying the car is overpriced, come back to reality please. It is rebuilt with receipts, everything is documented in his build. A normal termi these days between 50-100k are $20k. 5k More and you get a completly done over car, read the god damn build thread before opening your mouth.

Why in the hell would anyone spend 25k on a car that cannot have Full coverage/comprehensive coverage from a reputable Insurance company.

I think everyone who says this is a good deal and worth every penny is missing that fact. You only get liability coverage on that car.

You can get a non-salvaged cobra that you can get full coverage on, without hassle, for the same price.

The guy is clueless trying to get that much money for a salvaged car.

Psshh good luck finding a fool dumb enough to spend 25k on a salvaged v6 mustang with Cobra parts. I would MUCH rather have a real Cobra for 20k or so whether it has 10k 20k or 60k miles on it...
