bro, you are not understanding what anyone is saying. if you cannot get financed to buy a car, you will NOT NOT NOT be able to take over someones loan legally because you still need to be approved for financing the unpaid balance. GET A CO-SIGNER,lower rates possibly and a better chance to finance, as well as help your credit assuming you pay on time.

or.....you can come in with well over 1/2 down. Most places will sell to you under that pretense. But you will still have a large interest rate due to your bad credit. Remember they will sell a car to anyone, you just gotta be convincing. And cash down convinces like no other.

Also financing used cars without warranty and no money to fix things could become a problem as well

Also you will be looking at outrages charges. Let's say your car payment is $400. Yeah that sounds affordable but about $150 of that goes straight in to their pocket. So really you are only paying $250 toward th "principal". So if your Cobra cost 18K you will end up paying 25K and up. If the car gets totaled or stolen you will still have to make that payment.

It seems like everybody on your side giving you solid advise. Now take what you will from it and good luck. I say if you just have to have the Cobra start saving now, and set a goal of driving that Cobra next summer.

yeah keeping the 98 gt gonna throw some mula in it imma pay it off and keep it for like 7 months till i get credit and just get an 03 cobra so i can keep two cars lol yeee
