I have narrowed it down to 2 cars. Looking for some input because I want to pick one asap.
1. 96 Cobra (white) gargaed and pretty spotless body. 120K on the body with less than 10K on a pretty much stock rebuild with forged pistons and arp hardware. Lots of suspension work done and comes with a couple sets of rims, 4 point roll bar, exhaust and quite a bit other misc stuff. Very clean car.
2. 99 Cobra (red) 111K on the body and motor and is bascially bone stock. Exterior has some fading on rear bumper and decklid. Interior looks like it needs a good detail. AC needs either to be recharged or compressor changed.
Both cars are 2nd owner cars and have clean titles. White 96 exterior is defnately cleaner partially because white ages well and it has almost always been garaged. Cars are within a couple hundred dollars of each other

96 sounds familiar. Does it have tan interior? Is the sellers name Jon? If it's the same car I remember last year, that thing drove nice! Had alot of suspension, just needed subframes.

I also vote for the 96, its the color you want and has a rebuilt motor.

I would say the 99 if it was a clean one, but sounds to me it wasn't very well taken care of and it does not have a rebuilt motor...... the 96 has a rebuilt motor and better paint plus has extra stuff so the 96 is the clear winner on this one...

If the guy is/was a NASA instructor & the car was titled in VA then that's definately the same car. That car was set up for the twisties! At that time, if I didn't buy my '99 GTF I would've bought that car for sure! Only thing that was really holding me back was the out of state reg/smog & tan interior.

The way you described the 2 cars doesn't make it sound to hard to pick.. The 96 cobra sounds way better in every way, cleaner paint, less miles, suspension mods, cleaner interior.. What would even make u lean towards the other car?(real question not tryin to sound like an ass). Def go with the 96 though.

The 96 sounds like an all around better, & nicer car. The only thing I would change is, I wouldn't really want a roll cage in a 99% street driven vehicle.

Yep, that's the same one. It's all smogged and reg in ca now. I am meeting him today.
The 4 point autopower is not installed it's just included. I don't think I would mind putting it in though.

White 96 with white wheels to match would be tits. Hopefully my next car will be a white girl.
Like 89 point said, I can tell by the tone in which you wrote about the 2 cars you like the 96 better. And yes rebuilding a motor is very costly. The fact you have forged internals means you also have a boost ready car also if youu feel you need to be faster. 450+ rear wheel is right around the corner

I don't think the rebuild was intended for boost. If I remember right they bumped up the compression a bit for a little more NA HP.

Hmmmm..... NA four valves aren't bad either. Wonder how high the compression is....

Depending on the suspension setup on the '96 that sounds like a good choice.

Streetfighter50 turned me on to that car a while back, but after talking to the owner he kind of turned me OFF He was listing all the issue with it and I didn't look back. I'm not sure if its stated ini the ad or if he mentioned the issues to you, but supposedly it has a transmission issue with 2nd gear, a rear end issue with the car pulling to the side, a rear brake caliper issue, and a couple other little things that he stated. It was his "race" car so I guess it should be expected to have some kind of issues

Is the 96 the "Race" car? If so, the 99 would be better unless something else comes available.
