Sup Everything.. Some of you may know that I'm finally back in a Mustang. After 6 years being stangless,.. I jumped on a deal I did not want to pass and ended up getting the 1986 SVO from uhOh50.
Well...what i wanted to ask is what are the good/bad on the SVO's. Also, what are common problem areas i should look out for?
After driving the SVO this weekend.. I fell in love, this thing handles well and has enough power...now im thinking ahead with the SVO.
Thanks, CAlvin

Pros: yours is a clean example of an original svo! They have pretty decent suspension stock. Turbo.
Cons: it's still a foxbody and you can't leave it just anywhere without being paranoid.

Thanks everyone! im planning to swap out new lights in the front but I hear that the SVO lights are a "special fit". - know any good brands?-
other plans: 1. change oil pan gasket 2. change the motor mounts 3. new weather strips on the doors, driver/passenger windows and moonroof (any suggestions on where to get it?) 4. 5. 6. 7.
dont know what else to do with it.. Mike did a great job with the SVO.

The sunroof latch is messed up if I recall correctly. Never used it though. Weather strip everywhere, motor mounts, oil leaks fixed, maybe some new lights up front but tried to clean them up as much as possible. Just little nit-pick stuff for the time being. Check for vacuum leaks. Then later, onto head porting from Bo! [ April 14, 2010, 12:25 AM: Message edited by: uh0h50 ]

I'd get a bigger turbo after you're done doing all that random stuff, then beef up the suspension.

I seriously thought about selling my '68 and buying that SVO. I used to have an '84 and it was a great car.
Lots of performance upgrades out there if you have the money.

i had a 86 svo and it was a awesome car, they can have some majro turbo lag but they hall but for what they are. If your into the 84-86 styles then i would def get one over a 5.0 in that year. actually i think i sold my old one to somebody on here, i got t-boned in it so he was goign to use it for parts.

I have a SVO and the big con I have with the car is replacement part prices. They dont reproduce the outer lenes on the car so if you break one you're gonna have to spend alot to replace one.
If you need parts for the engine try tthis place they are prett good.
