ok i bought some longtubes for my 01 cobra and im ready to put them in but i have not replaced the clutch in about 3 years.when i put in the longtubes i cannot take out the trans without taking off a header so.the clutch feels fine but it is 3 years old and has taken sum abuse so should i hold off on the longtubes until i can afford a new clutch too or what?i just dont wana pay for the same job 2 times.thanx for your opinion

imo wait.. if your doing the work yourself and don't mind turning wrenches, don't worry about it.. if your paying for the work. wait for the clutch... do you want to pay twice?

I say wait. What longtubes are you going with? I've read that with hookers you don't have to take one side off.

I did a 6-speed swap on a '97 Cobra with BBK long tubes and had to loosen the passenger side header to get the bellhousing out. Longtubes on anything makes it a pain in the ass to service. Run shorties and make up for the power elsewhere, IMO.

You must have cought me on a good day I could do it for 300$. I charge 450$ if you needed a clutch swapped and already had lts installed, kinda a pain, with bbks you have to drop the k member, pull the pass side lt off, then reinstall the k, pull the trans and do the clutch, then drop the k again, reinstall the header then put the k up and button everything up. I have done about 5 of these.
