Well I went to smog my Impala today at my smog place she passed of course. When out the way I was told I will see you later when you bring me the 07 F250 Power Stroke. I laughed and said no you wont dont have to smog a diesel. I was told that now you have to do a smog on 98 and up diesel trucks. Wow I hated Cali before but now I really do. I think once the market turns around I'm going to bail. I really hate this state with a passion now. I think this is the last straw for me.

Those with modified diesels don't be suprised if you get sent to the referee for modified emissions. This has been in the works for a awhile. So make sure you have C.A.R.B. approved parts and the required mylar sticker with E.O.number.

Motorcycles are next.

Never really been a fan of black smoke puffing diesels. Id like to keep the deterioration of my lung capacity to a minimum.

To each there own I guess. Diesel smoke is not nearly as harmful to you or the environment as the emissions produced from a gasoline engine.

I'll take my 600 hp and 1200 tq on 3 per/gallon fuel. That's just me! [burnout]

they just verify there are no tuners or non carb parts on the truck, make sure the smog stuff and cat are there, then due a visual smoke test. no sniffer involved.

Oh yeah, forgot about T's original post.

Yes, Notzifornia has now reached out to the diesel community to make them help pay the welfare bills. But, it makes sense right? Majority of diesel drivers are guys using their trucks for their business, working in that truck for someone else or just a driver for a living. There is a trend for people driving diesels, THEY ARE WORKING! It makes perfect sense to make them flip the bill for the ever increasing line of unemployed Notziforniuan's looking for handouts. I mean, that does make sense, right?

For those of you that are going to pull the "global warming" or the now dumbed down "climate change" card, please spare us the BS.

I'm with you T. Out of here as soon as possible. I'm going to find John B and move my shop to his place actually.....j/k [Wink]

Don't get me wrong, I'm not agaist diesel as a technology. I'm all for diesels that make gobs of power and burn clean. Its been proven diesels can make way more power than conventional fuel and also be less harmful while doing it. But just like gasoline vehicles I have seen many dirty diesels. So regulate em and keep the air cleaner......

However I do know thet primary reason for that law being passed is to generate revenue for the state. Its all about the money and that's another way to make it since the state is hurting. On one hand its BS that the state is tryna bring in money by hittn doesel owners, but it does have a benefit for air quality

GVWR on my 2000 PSD door sticker says 8800lbs.
[Wink]

I got the same thing from the Smog Techs....I guess they don't know the weight limit in the new law, and/or that all PSD's are rated in the over 8500lb class.

In other words.....don't sweat it. It seems to be for the lightweight diesel vehicles, like the VW TDI's.
