purchased a engine that was in a conversion car. just wondering how to tell what year the engine came from. reason being want to know if the engine is a forged piston or hyper pistons thanks yall

I could be mistaken but the casting numbers aren't going to tell you for sure if it's a forged piston engine unless you find an 93 or later casting date. The E7TE head carried over for a while so I imagine the blocks did too.

Only one true way to find out. Pull the pan and look at the back of the pistons.
Other than that, crap shoot.
Even if it is a F1 versus an E7 casting could be either.
I have been down this road many a time.
