You would think that they would part some of these cars out just to make some of the money back. Not too sure I like this whole idea. No way in hell I would give up my gas hog.

They really want to make sure no one can get these cars back on the road. I seen clean looking mid 90's explorer in front of a dealership.... It didn't even have dents in it and they spray painted cash for clunkers on the side [Mad]

At least put these cars in pick n pull so people can use the parts!
Better yet used the cleaner clunkers for gov cars... Senators and congress men don't need new cars.

Do you honestly think the Government would want to break even or turn a profit on any program they implement? If it needs more money, they'll just tax you more.

The guberment doesn't do anything right when it comes to running businesses. Look at the postal system, has it ever made any money?

Have you guys gotten any money from the gubment yet? My buddy told me two of the dealerships he works with have 18+ cars on their lot with only IOU's coming in. They haven't disabled the engines yet in case they don't get any money from the Feds.

Saw some info on the new's the other day "so it's probably a lie" and the scrap yard's were complaining that this will cause a shortage of part's which is going to jack up prices.
