Hello Everyone. I am thinking about opening an out door Go Kart business and wanted to know everyone's opinion. The track will be on a 10-20 thousand square lot and will feature 5 Stratos 9hp Honda karts. There will be practice, and race sessions available. I hope to relocate into a building so that I can provide year around service in a year.

fun stuff, I just went karting at a local place here. kinda hooked on it

If you build it they will come!
Hints to this is gonna be a place where you can consistantly change the course. if you do it right I am sure it will be kick ass! As for JP and Arvin we can form and alliance and take them down.

Thank you very much for your replies.
I plan on changing the layout of the track on certain days to offer different challenges. I will include an oval track that will provide some nice competition now that you mention it.
We are hoping to be in operations this Summer, but spring of 2010 is a more realistic goal. I'll let everyone know if that changes.

I am still in the process of finding a suitable site. I have been looking at the empty lot next to the Mitsubishi dealership on diamond blvd, a few lots on bates ave, and I am waiting on some suggestions from a broker that I have contacted.

Do you know how many square feet is the track itself is? I plan to add 5 more karts after a few months.

Any chance of making it a shifter kart track? Would love to rip my 36 hp kart around a track that is alot closer.
