Well not so much golf but went to the driving range for the first time ever. Actually this is the first time I ever even had a golf club in my hand. I got the hang of it really quick and was hitting the ball straighter and further than the people I went with (not that they were pros). But I was averaging about 200 yards with a 6 borrowed iron/wood wedge (I think that is what the dude called it). I used a friends driver and belted a good one about 250+. I think I like golf now. Wont replace hoop, but it was amazingly therapeutic. So ya'll will see me terrorizing the range in San Ramon...lol.

I just picked this up too, recently! Try an executive course or a 9hole to get the hang of the game. It's really relaxing when you actually get on a course and ride around playing. It's different than the range as it requires more skill to play out there. Actually going up north to dublin for an attorney sponsored event this friday [Whoo Whooooo!]

Not sure if I have the patience to play a round of golf. but the driving range was a blast. I figured it would be extremely hard to hit that little ball, but I found it rather easy. But I know just trying to hit the ball as far as you can is different than trying to place the ball.

once you get out onto the course its not very therapeutic the first couple of years you play lol but as you keep playing a practacing it is a very fun sport and you can drink while you do it.

When you find yourself running out of patience just have another beer [Big Grin]

My neighborhood has the private 9 hole and its pretty cool, 200 bucks a year and you can go whenever you want. Non members are 10 bucks a round too, pretty reasonable.
