Do you ever feel so frustrated with your Mustang that you feel like just giving up on it? I guess I'm just really hot and my mind is somewhere else, but I've been feeling frustrated with my Saleen [Mad]

I just got my clutch installed and now theres some kind of clunking noise that I hear when letting off the gas after hard acceleration and when shifting hard through gears. Anyone know what this can be?

Its hot as hell outside and the AC doesnt work. When I turn it on from inside the car, the clutch doesnt engage and the AC compressor doesnt spin with the drive belt. Can this be a bad switch, ac clutch, or compressor?

I just got my sideskirts and bumpers repainted and the other day I went down my buddy's driveway and scraped the passenger side skirt. It cracked the paint at the very bottom (not very noticeable) but I'm scared the paint will start cracking more and peeling up to where it will get noticeable. If I put touch up paint over the chipped area, will this prevent it from peeling/cracking more?

I want to finish the look of the car off with some chrome Saleens but no one wants to freaking trade!!!! Someone want to help me out??

To counter these emotions, I did get my MAD Racing seats installed and love them! They look really good. They did raise the driver side height a bit, but Im not very tall, so the power seat track allowed me to lower the height a little to help the problem.

Just thought I needed to vent. Hopefully i can get these issues resolved so I can actually enjoy the car. I'd hate to get so frustrated and end up selling the car like I did with my "SF Giants Coupe" [Frown]

Clunking could be a control arm bushing. A/C prolly just needs some freon.

I hear that! My stang has been in the garage & torn down for 6 month's because I have been lazy + other thing's in life have taken priority for a bit but I know when I get it back up and running and make a pass at the drag strip I will remember why I dump endless money and spend hour's wrenching on My POS [Razz] . Just keep going full tilt till You figure it out [Whoo Whooooo!] & get a comfotable daily driver if You can swing it!

I here ya bro, I get frustrated all the time with my stangs. I just spent a ton of money on my MM k member only to find out once I got it installed that it pushed my wheels out beyond the fenders??? Now I have to modify other shit just to bring them back in. Sometimes Im like if I would just leave my cars stock, they wouldnt be such a hassle, but then they would be boring, slow, run of the mill, & not very unique....

Dont give up on your car...Post pics of the seats PLEASE!!!

look bro it doesn't matter how nice your car looks if its your daily driver its going to get scratched and shit is going to happen. Don't stress over it too much. Stressing isn't going to fix the problem.

I Know mechanical problems could be stress full, but thats the price we all pay for driving built cars.

Good Luck

yeah what about them seats...

cars can be frustrating but its usually temporary. sometimes u just gotta step away from the car and come back to it after a few days or weeks once the frustration dies off.

my 97 has been an endless project since i picked it up in march and ive literally driven it 2miles since buying it but i do know that its a long term project that will take probably 1-2years to get it where i want. it does help that i dont rely on it at all and work on it at my own leasure whenver i have time.

Oh yeah, I thought I had the tuning issues resolved but another problem popped up. Nothing major but all the little things are frustrating.

As Blind said above... having a project that is also your daily driver is a formula for going mentally insane (assuming you have a full time job or other important commitments)

Once the 93 coupe became a weekend toy, its reduced my stress considerably.

I no longer have to wrap up projects by Sunday night so I can get to work on Monday morning.

Thanks for the words of wisdom fellas [Big Grin] I wasn't planning on giving up on the Saleen, but it does have me somewhat frsutarted right now.

It's by no means my daily driver either. I have a Mazda CX9 that I commute in...nice, cozy, and reliable!

I dont have pics of the seats right now, sorry. I left my camera a my cousin's house yesterday so I cant snap anything right now. I'll get some posted by Tuesday. All I have to say about them is that the black/gray seat combo looks perfect with my interior's color scheme.

Be patient man, shit always goes wrong.
Shit, recently I replaced the motor on my stang, put 7qt Moroso (piece of shit by the way), put a new T-56 setup, now it all has to come out so I can replace the gasket to fix oil leaks and to figure out why I have low oil pressure [Mad]

Well, time heals all wounds [Big Grin] Most of the "problems" that were frustrating me during the crazy hot weather are pretty much solved!!

I fixed the "clunking" sound from underneath the car. It was a bad tranny mount.

I got someone to trade my FR500's for Hyperblack Saleens!!! Exactly what I was looking for too!

I did a little trouble shooting this evening and I figured out the problem with my a/c was the pressure switch. Going to Kragen tomorrow and hopefully they stock it. At least I know the culprit!!

Lastly, I still got the damn paint chip on my freshlu painted sideskirt [Mad] I'm supposed to bring the car back to the shop so they can sand and buff out the body kit, so hopefully he can do a little repair work. If not, a little touch-up pait wont hurt [Wink]

All in all, I guess my rant paid off [patriot]

yup, I get mad at my Ford all the time. I always think if would have bought a Chevy I wouldn't have these problems.

Thinking back to the GM's I had... More power. But blowing up rear ends and tranny's all day!

Regardless how mad I get with my Mustangs, I'd NEVER replace it with a chevy [Mad] (unless its a corvette)

My project is my daily driver. My 94 has 210K on it! I have a full MM 3 link waiting to be installed, an 80mm pro-M that needs to be recalibrated for my injectors. some Dyna mat heat shield standing by, a driver side window that doesnt go up or down w/o assistance. My Saleen kit has paint chipping off the front from a speed bump and paint coming off the skirts from my side exhaust not being installed properly. Your not alone. As soon as I get my little Ford Focus and non-op the mustang stress will no longer be any issue. Be thankful you have reliable transportation. Sounds like to me that your a normal gearhead that nedds to blow off some steam from time to time. Good luck with your build. It all works out in the end. [patriot]

Yea, I guess I just needed to let off some steam [Big Grin] Ever since I started this thread, everything that had me pissed off kind of 360'ed and is going my way.

I got my ac working today and blows ice cold!

I just traded my FR500's for hyperblack saleens this evening...Thanks Diamond Dave!

I replaced my tranny mount and the clunking sound is gone.

I'm still waiting on the chipped side skirt though. I have to bring my car back to the body shop so he can finish off the wet sanding and buffing, so HOPEFULLY the guy can touch up my sideskirt.

Good luck with your build as well [patriot]
