when your movie resumes at where you last stopped watching it and turned the dvd player off, is this feature from the dvd movie(disc) or the dvd player?

sometimes when i take out the disc and a week later pop it back in, the movie starts where i last stopped. i'm thinking its the disc feature and not the player. my co-worker says it's the opposite.

its the player. DVDs are write protected so nothing could be written to the dvd to remember where the play head was. But you just helped me with a programming issue at work with this question. THANKS!

But you could try this if you still dont believe. Watch the DVD on one player. Take it out and put it back in to make sure it remembers the spot. Take it out and put it in another dvd player. If it remembers your spot you are right and you also just figured out The DaVinci Code.
