Well i finally got done with the written exam, pshychological test, physical abilities test, and the personal interview. I recently got a letter in the mail stating i was chosen as a candidate for the academy and extended a conditional offer of employment. all thats left now is the backgroung investigation and the interview with a psychologist. have another few months before thats all said and done tho. good thing i didnt do any stupid shit in my young age. im going to have to take a semester or 2 off from school but i figured id share the good news with the site. looks like ima have to drive slow on all the cruises now

I have a friend on here that got caught by the cops racing and he told him how he was trying to be a cop and they let him go. Just in case, tell the same story.

You don't get to go home every weekend. Also- If you fail a test during the week you have to stay for the weekend to re-test. If you fail that weekend test your out.

Just a heads up, the "Govenator" last week put a hiring freeze into effect for all agency's including the CHP. A co-worker is waiting for the personal board to say, "yay or nay" He is mad though because he went through backgrounds, psych, and all the other b.s. only to find out that the final decision is made by someone he has never talked to; some admin shit. Good luck on the process. The live in academy would be cool. I start the Sac. Sheriff's Academy March 29 it is only Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Sat; however, it is also 10 months long . I hear you on the young years and not getting into trouble. I have some minor weed experimenting and underage drinking, but nothing serious. Good Luck to you great career

The freeze is not for any public safety dept. The CHP can still hire people. [ February 25, 2008, 02:31 PM: Message edited by: 69 Resto-Mod Coupe ]

I stand corrected on the CHP , but I know that local agencies like SSD and SPD are having trouble finding money to hire candidates. I also heard that layoffs are possible for Sac City Fire and PD; layoffs in public safety are very uncommon. Yay, to a booming economy!!!
