Saw this movie tonight. It was awesome, sad, freaky and unexpecting. Will Smith is the main character (Hes a good actor) He plays a Army scientist trying to find the cure of a virus that spreads through New York and possibly the world. He believes he is the only survivor trying to find the cure to zombie type people. He calls the virus a type of rabbies.
Its a very good movie and if you haven't seen it i suggest you check it out.

I labored through that movie last night with the woman because she wanted to see it for some reason . I thought it sucked as 99 out of a hundred moves do these days...imo. It was just another unbelievable action/sci fi sorta drama made for the masses(15 to 25yr olds). Matter fact the only thing worse than the actual move was the behaivor of the audience who couldent seem to manage to shut there fucking pie holes. Non stop giggling chatter and the ever so genious remarks during the silent scenes.

That's why I never go to the movies on the weekend, too many high school kids and they are annoying to say the least. I usually go during the week, I can't stand the crowds on opening nights anyways, I do plan on seeing this movie, it looks good.

I'm guessing you never saw The Omega Man with heston? Both movies were adapted from the same book, albeit I Am legend took less deviations, imo.

That's just it... IMO, it was meant to be a story JUST about him and his life/struggles.. Not so much about what happens "after" it all... I mean, it's a pretty good opening for a sequel tho.
that scene with his dog tho was... rough. I couldn't imagine that!

I thought the ending was ok. I got the impression he becomes a legend through folklore. i don't see a sequel coming out of it.

Just got back and overall I loved the movie. There are a few things that could have took the movie in a few more interesting directions. Also I didnt realize it was the entire world that was infected until the end. I thought it was just NY. Ending was kinda whacked because it tapered real quick. But it was ok. I would tell folks to see it in the theaters.
Some of the CG on the Mustang scene wasn't on point. [ December 16, 2007, 11:05 PM: Message edited by: N8 ]
