What's the deal with the salvage title? I've owned a few cars with salvage titles and never had an issue with them mechanically or with getting insurance or anything like that.
The car looks clean and will probably move out. If I had the cash I'd jump on it. Just seem a little picky. Don't buy the car as an investment, buy it because you want to enjoy it. Not everything in life is a scheme to make money.

I don't see where it says that it's a salvaged title. The only thing the ad says is that it is "branded exceeds mechanical limits". All that means is that the mileage rolled over. That has to be one of the most kick ass Foxes I've ever seen. That guy has thrown down some serious cash.

This thing has been on e-bay several times in the last 6 months. One of the BIG Problems with salvage titles is when the insurance CO does a pays off. The insurance CO charges full price BUT when a they have to do a payoff they give you 50% of the ACV.

I agree... "Title is branded exceeds mechanical limits" Just mileage rollover on the body. Who cares about that?

When I buy a car I never buy it with an intention to make money later on, however, I don't know what the future holds, so if I ever need to sell the car, I want to make sure I will get as much as I can because I already know that you never get back what you put into these cars and having a salvage title is just another reason a buyer would want to give you less.

I could have sworn running a carfax on it and coming up with a salvage title, but I guess that was not it.

Shit, for 24k you could build your own Foxbody with a 04 Cobra swap and all the body panels would line up unlike that one..

I don't see any fitment issues. I also wouldn't pay $24K for it but I guarantee he's got more than that into it by a long shot.

I just checked into the whole salvage title thing. On a car that old it isn't even realy a factor 10% tops. Where you really get into trouble with a salvage title is in a car that is still fairly new. The tuff part about buying that car would be insuring it for what it would be worth. Look at the pictures again and pay attention to the way the hood and fenders line up

Yeah, it's not likely that he popped the hood then snapped a few pics of the outside followed by the engine and interior pics.

I think they used the original 03 Cobra gauge cluster and computer so the mileage wont match the actual mileage on the car. Thats one of the nicest foxes I've seen. There was one on SVT performance last year that was nice too. It was a late 80s- early 90's notch with a built 98 Cobra motor and a Vortech. I was thinking about buying it but then he was just steering people to an ebay auction that he was bidding on from another user name to drive the price up. I turned the asshole in and he got suspended though for it.

The hood is unlatched and not closed. Look at the hood pins. You can't see them exposed through the hood. [ November 26, 2007, 01:25 AM: Message edited by: iceman302 ]
