I'm thinking of branching out into the tire buisness and looking for feedback. I currently run a mobile repair buisness working on Diesel's and auto's. I am looking at picking up a top of the line coats computer balancer and all in one tire machine capable if handling up to 26" tires. Is anyone interested in this kind of buisness??? No waiting in line at a tire store for 2 hrs set an appointment and I'll either come to your house pick up your rims and bring them back or as soon as I can get them mounted in a trailer go mobile while you wait. I know alot of people buying tires for their daily drivers at cosco and taking them to be mounted. I worked at big o tires for 2 1/2 years and I'm familiar with these specific machines as well as tire repairs, patched from the inside not a cheap plug kit. Also I have mounted many sets of low pro 20's . Looking to charge 10.oo mount and balance for 17's and under and 18.oo mount and balance for 18's and up, add 5.oo for flat repairs.

1 stipulation, I am not looking to do tire work in the oakland area, however I can refer you to someone who can. My reasons for this are that I'm buying the machines off someone who conducts this type of buisness in that area and I'm not looking to infringe on any of his buisness. Mostly looking at hayward to san jose and east to livermore.

I'm not interested but seems like a good little buisiness to start. I changed tires for almost 2yrs as well and I would never trust a Big-O or Americas tire not knowing if some new guy with no experience may scratch or damage my rim. Luckly Americas Tire still allows me to just go in and mount my own tires for free, even though I do not work there any more...Good luck

Well I already have a buisness I'm just looking to expand into other related areas and tires is an area where I have experience and I'm able to do some horse trading for quality machines. If your looking for some work the guy I'm getting the machines off of is setting up 2 or 3 trucks and I could get you his number, he's looking for some people he can trust to run a couple of his trucks. It will probably be in the Oakland area.

If you feel strongly about it I say GO FOR IT! Give it a shot. People who are successfull go out on many "limbs" until they find the right "limb" that will hold them.

I say go for it! Advertise to all the major companies or business parks. There is lots of Engineers, managers, doctors, & etc that work too hard and have no time for maintaining there cars. Also offer to supply tires upon there orders.

I'm thinking about stocking a few common sets for honda civics and 245/45/17's sizes that are commonly used.
