Gonna surprise the wifey and take a few days to get away and roll out to vegas. Last time I went to Vegas was for a basketball game I was playing in we played UNLV when they still had Larry Johnson, Greg Anthony, Stacey Augmon, George Ackles .....needless to say we got whooped, but anyway. As you can see its been a while since I have been to Vegas. So my question is, are there any main attractions or good shows I should catch? Someone recommended eating at the Sopranos restaurant. We are staying at the Luxor or The Excalibur (not sure yet). We'll probably stay for about 4-5 days. [ February 28, 2007, 06:16 PM: Message edited by: N8 ]

Do you want to go to clubs? Or more shows? A really good relax club is at the top of mandala bay. I think its only open on sunday or monday night but its amazing. Its a half indoor half outdoor club with an amazing view of the strip and three different rooms with different types of music for your taste.

Dont mind a club, long as it isnt filled with youngstas. Also I clubbed almost all my adolescent life so, I figure something new would be better. So Shows sound good.

Luxor or Excalibur is just where we are staying. Probably wont spend much time there. Oh yeah and we dont gamble much so casinos are not it for me.
My budget is somewhere between Jay-Z and J.J Evans from Good Times.
Nah, not looking to paint the town red, but have a good time at the same time. [ February 28, 2007, 06:19 PM: Message edited by: N8 ]

Get a car and go check out the Hoover Dam. Pretty cool if you have not done it before. Take the tour and go down inside. pretty cool to see. Awesome view too.

Damn those were the days. I remember that team. That is why I love UNLV so much
If your not going to gamble at the casinos at least play a few hundred on a basketball game and let it pay for your part of your trip
Have fun. Not much do out there but drink, gamble, and party. [ February 28, 2007, 06:33 PM: Message edited by: CLEEN 50 ]

IMO, "avoid" this. I went with my girlfriend a few years ago. Would have rather spent the couple hours sleeping in hindsight.

Hit up the Rio it is a pretty cool casino with lots of things going on that you don't have to gamble to enjoy. They have a good seafood buffet. Mandalay Bay has a shark tank exhibit that is pretty cool. Check out the Ceasers Palace mall all the statues perform shows on the hour. Excaliber had a pretty cool dinner show based on midevil times. Lots of stuff to do that doesn't take gambling or clubbing to enjoy. Have fun

Each his own I guess. We went 2 years ago and had a very good time. I'd do it again.
I'm sure he is open to any other suggestions if you have any.
