Okay as some may know I vowed to get out of the fox game but recently jumped back in with a the purchase of a 88 GT. Nice car, clean title, custom paint....
But man after getting the car and going through it
Just the little things are starting to kill me that I have to replace:
Heater Core
Need to get dash re-wired: When they installed the stereo they cut a bunch of harnesses instead of buying the kit.
I have to track down parasitic drains due to the above crap
Bypassed relays and stuff for rear lights because of the stereo install
Took porno red interior to a new level by dying the porno red a fruitier porno red With silver tubing
Had to replace handles and did locks. Plus had to do som ework on the door internals. Whoever painted the car didnt know how to put things back
All in all a solid car, but it just makes you think what the hell do some people be thinking when they do things to cars. I dunno man, just felt like ranting.
Car looks cool, I'll post pics later. But the small things are irritating me.

Called cutting corners. How old was the person you bought it from. No offence but most fox owners are younger with no money. Not saying there aren't poor older fox owners or rich young fox owners but you have to admit the majority of fox owners are youngins with little money to do shit right. Just have to go over these cars with a fine toothed comb and decide if the cut corners are something your willing to deal with when buying the car.
If you want I have a heater core bypass...you can have it nate

Thanks J...I already got in there and replaced the heater core.
Dude I got it from was my age, but with a youngster demeanor. but he was cool and honest for the most part. I mean it is really a bunch of small shit that I am finding. but I got the car for a good price. So I cant complain too much.
ill get some pics together. [ January 22, 2007, 06:33 PM: Message edited by: n8y8 ]

I hate when someone cuts the stock wiring instead of buying the adapter harness. Just makes it a mess of short wires.

ya, this is a result of the following:
a.) these cars are now 13-20 years old b.) they are cheap
combine a and b and you have a big pool of cheap garage hacks getting their hands on these cars over the course of many years and cutting corners...
How do you avoid most of this? Well, one option is to spend more initially. It's not always the case, but more often than not.
Best of luck

well that's what makes me feel good about beating on them. If I spent $50K + on a Vette, I'd be terrified to beat on it, lol
