So i stand up to get my shoes and i look out the window and i see something running infront of the garage with something white and i look closer and its a HUGE Brown Bear! He must have gotten in our trash or something it was awesome! I ran upstairs to get my dad but i guess it ran down the hill. Didn't seem like he was moving very fast.

After i left for work he came back and stood on his hind legs and was watching my parents. My mom took two pictures the first one he went back down on all fours so you can't see him hes behind the trash cans and then the other one you can see him running along the side of the garage! I will post pics tonight possibly.

So we found the trash, its about 200 feet behind the garage. When we were walking down there a coyote ran out infront of us and stood there watching us. I went back to get my camera but he peaced out. I took pics of where we found the trash its a total bear hibernation area ![[Eek!]](eek.gif)

Can your shotgun shoot slugs? You may need to go buy some just in case you need to use them. Regular shells wont do anything to a bear. Slug to the head will take it out.

Yeah my shotgun can shoot slugs but I'm not going to shoot to kill a bear or mountain lion, bird shot will just scare the bear off it won't hurt it. The only reason i would shoot either one of those was if it was breaking into my home or attacking my dogs.
I think my dad is going to leave the trash out again tonight so i am waking up early again tomorrow to go goldpanning but i will have my camera ready if i see him out there

Bird shot will probably piss it off. If it were me, I would buy some slugs just in case.

three bears tried breaking into this guys house last month and he shot the first one into his house with bird shot out of his 12guage and they all turned and ran.
EDIT:I'd also like to point out that the guy was almost arrested for shooting a firearm, and shooting a california bear but he got off cause he shot the bear in his house.
They tracked teh bears and found the one shoot was fine just a little small wounds on it from the bird shot

Oh well, just my preference. If that bear even looked like he wanted to do something, there wouldn't be a warning shot. I wouldn't care if I shot a California bear. Nothing like a little fire to get rid of the evidence... That's why I love my firearm freedom's here in the state of Texas!
