I'll bet she likes driving her Cobra more than the truck! [Big Grin]

Compared to the truck you were. I have a few friends that drive truck and love it. I was thinking about it for a while myself but decided that I just cant be away from home for any period of time. I cant stand not sleeping in my own bed for more than a few days and from what I hear long haul is where the real money is.... but I could be wrong.

We both would rather sleep at home but its 2 AM and were both awake and on the internet.... [Big Grin] Congrats on the license and good luck on finding a good job, I'm sure there are plenty of local jobs around. I have a friend that drives a water truck for Teichert Construction and he makes great money, if you want I'll ask him who to contact for a job.

I have a few connections around the area.... I'm a forklift mechanic so where there are forklifts, there are usually trucks. I'll check around and PM you with any info. What area you looking to work in?

Hey whats up? Congrats on your license!

I posted in your other topic already but lemme know whats on your mind and I'll be happy to help ya out (and anyone else with truck work related questions)

How do I like it so far? Well, its been great. I don't have to work hard to make a lot of cash. I call my own shots. I'm a owner operator so I get a lot more freedom than company drivers, I've done a bit of everything in the past year of having my license; doubles, reefers, dry van, dump truck, over the road, local, ran solo and team. There is a lot of money to be made in the industry and you can step up very fast (as a company driver or owning your own truck) if your responsible and have a good business plan. What I tell the "kids" at the school is if I can do it pretty much anyone can. Its not that hard to make it just got to have a good plan, stick to it and have common sense. My plan was to be a O/O in one year. I did it in 10 mos.

And yeah the CObra is more fun to drive than my big rig, it goes into gear a lot easier!

My dad drove trucks for years and years some good companies and some shityt companies. He had his own business for awhile but ended up costing more money then he was making and he had us to support so went back to working for others. Theres lots of jobs around teh bay area check online monster jobs things like that and I know my dad made good money working down at the port he operates the big crap now doesnt drive trucks but that might be a good place to start or get in w a union [patriot] good luck!
