I just picked up a '77 Hawaiian Jet Boat with no motor. It had a big block chevy in it, but I am going to put in a 460. Does anyone have parts or know where to find them used? Any good message boards?

I HAVE A WHOLE 460 MOTOR WITH EDLEBROCK INTAKE AND I HAVE A ELECTRIC PUMP WITH REGULATER AND STEEL BRAIDED LINES..I MIGHT HAVE A LOT MORE TO...WHAT YOU NEED..I JUST GOT RID OF MY JET BOAT AND BOUGHT A 2006 TIGE' WAKEBOARD BOAT..

yeah the reason i pulled the motor was cause it started to smoke out the pipes and breather a little so i figured it needed a freshen up...i will sell it for $200 as a good rebuildable motor...the intake alone is woth that and check out ebay for the headers...i would buy the motor plates(mounts) from CPperformance.com...im not sure what PTO is but check there for that also..

the best forum for jet boats is www.hotboat.com they can help you out for performance parts. For general knowledge and replacement parts talk to boat master 2 in dublin very experienced staff.

Thanks for the replys! I am picking up the motor from Blownmach1 and getting most the other parts from a guy off the Hotboat forums. I will post pics when its more together!

Stay away from the tahiti's.They are like the escort of boats,mass produced low quality.I had one it was fun but its a 1/4 stringer boat that had an olds motor which is what most of the tahitis came with.It had alot of motor issues,replaced the motor and still had issues.The olds motor has oiling issues and is even worse in a boat.Look for a full stringer boat with a Big Block Chevy.The olds and ford motors have alot of issues.Depending on your budget look for a Bahner,Sanger,Pioneer,Eliminator,Miller,Rogers.Those are very good strong hulls.Also ONLY get a boat with a Berkeley Pump,all the other pumps are JUNK!
