Hey I wanted to hear from folks who have sold their cars on ebay. Was it a hassle? How long did the whole thing take? Any pitfalls I should watch for?

I have been hanging on to my cutlass since highschool, and I think it is about time I sell it. I am thinking on selling it on ebay. But I dont deal with ebay much aside from buying a few things here and there. So any advice would be appreciated.

I sold the Saleen on there. It ended with a buy it now in less than 3 days into the auction. The guy drove down from Oregon, paid cash and trailered it home. I had no problems at all but I think it depends on the buyer and the type of car your selling. I tried CL for my 90 GT, all I got were BS lowball offers and it took over a month to sell. You might try CL first just to see... you never know, somone may just snatch it up. [patriot]

Unless it's an extra special car, I'd stick to local means. I used Ebay to sell my Saleen and some guy in Georga bought it. Took a couple weeks for me to get the money, and then a couple more weeks for them to arrange shipping.

I looked on ebay to buy a car and checked out the FAQ. They advise to purchase cars from sellers who have sold for the reputation. Just my 2 cents.

Autotrader.com lets you post your vehicle (for a fee) and lets you keep it on their site until it sells. I used that method to sell my Honda and didn't have any problems.

Thanks folks. Its not a extra special car, but a more rare model of cutlass. And there are a certain niche of folks that will pay for that. Not trying to make a killing, but CL can be a pain in that ass at times. I'll see how much Autotrader charges.
