i just got back from nextgen yesterday. i didn't get a chance to upgrade my fuel system, but i went in to get a safe tune b/c after my 8 rib install i was detonating at 4200rpm. My setup:

2000 GT
novi 2000 non-i/c
shortie headers
8 rib set up
o/r x-pipe 2 chamber flows
accufab intake plenum w/70mm TB
42lb injectors
SVT Focus Pump
Lightning 90mm MAF

Nextgen had issues with my car trying to get it to produce power w/o leaning out up top. i put down 390rwhp/386rwtq with 9 degrees of timing @ 15lbs of boost (thanks to no more slippage with the 8 rib). Even after they were done I'm still detonating at 5100 rpm. They say that I am pushing too much boost w/o an intercooler or methanol injection to cool the charge so they could up the timing and get more power. I know the focus pump can handle 420-430rwhp, so i'm kinda bummed. I made 365rwhp at alterspeed w/o the headers or 8 rib on a mustang dyno, but i'm assuming slippage had something to do with it. They said that they can back out timing even more to get no detonation but i'm going to lose a lot of power. Any suggestions on how i can get more power safely at this point?

It's amazing the limitations on SC cars without intercoolers or injection. I've seen quite a few cars here at RPM that all are HP limited because of this.

I'd strongly suggest getting an intercooler and unlocking that extra HP [patriot]

I know it's expensive, but once you get it, it's one less thing holding you back as long as you have the car.

Get the Boost Cooler from Snow Performance.com, it's a good solution if you don't have the money for an intercooler the whole setup is only like $300 bucks. Incase you don't know what it is, it's a water/methanol injection system..it will help your problem and it will give you more hp. [Big Grin] [patriot] [burnout]

8 rib set up with a belt and excellent instructions was around $500 (check www.modularpowerhouse.com). I'm running a 3.00 pulley to make 15psi. people with that pulley and an i/c without heads were making around 18-20psi

1100hp: I know about the snow performance kit, i think that is next on my list to get. thanks fellas

Throw some 100 octane in there & take it back. [Smile]
$4.69 a gallon for 100 vs $3.19 for 91...... Do a 50/50 mix of 100/91 & you'll spend an extra ~$11 on each tank of gas, make a lot more power & have confidence that it's 'safe' to beat on.

Aside from that if it actually is running lean up top (Can't bring the A/F down) you need to address the issue with fuel volume. Either throw on a BAP or figure out why you're not getting the volume out of the system.

I've seen one focus pump handle 515RWHP, another handle just over 500RWHP, & yet another peeter out at 420RWHP. Could be something as simple as a clogged fuel filter holding things up.
