I work for United Rentals in Sacramento... the location that is off of I-80 and Norwood. We are the nations largest equipment rental company.... we rent everything from small electric drills all the way up to Volvo Loaders with tires more then 6' tall.

Im about 90% positive we will be looking for a Mechanic II or III for our small tools dept. in the very near future. If you come in as a MechII you must have a good deal of knowledge pertaining to being a mechanic... MechIIs get paid more then the entry level MechIII but MechIIs have to bring/supply their own tools and box. MechIIIs get paid a little less and are provided with a tool box and a good amount of tools to get started.

The job entails working on the following equipment:
-Stihl, Partner, etc... small concrete cutting saws.
-Husqavarna lawn mowers.
-Various chain saws.
-Mortor Mixers.
-Concrete buggies.
-Various Dewatering pumps.
-Brush Chippers.
-Rebar benders/cutters.
-Drain snakes.
-Small box/utility trailers.
-Trenchers.
***Basically all kinds of small lawn/construction equipment***

Some of the jobs entail these details:
-Small engine tear downs/rebuilds. (largest would be our 9-11hp hondas)
-A LOT of service/maintenance on these motors. (filter and fluid changes)
-Basic diagnostics.
-Basic metal fabrication.
-Welding.
-Electrical wiring on trailers.
-Bearing R&R on trailers.

My supervisor is telling me that starting pay would be between $14-16/hr depending on experience and if you have tools already.... all I know is its decent and you get full benefits after probation. More then likely you will start out working 1 weekend day and 4 week days, you may luck out and get the weekends off to start with. 40hrs a week. The current small tools mechanics have the weekends off... and I cant make any promisses but kick some ass and eventually youll have weekends off.

Let me know if you are interested... or if you know someone that might be.

PM me and Ill get things rolling for you. [patriot]
