ok guys i got pulled over today coming home for exhaust no cats question is there anything i can do instead of changing my motor (heads,cam,intake)or what do they check for at state ref.
my mods are
afr heads
x303 cam
longtubes
o/r h pipe etc.

Doesn't sound like you can do anything, unless you wanna switch the long tubes out for the stock ones and put the stock hpipe back in.

find e.o. numbers for everything on the car. the cam you will just have to hope on. but your exhaust wont even fly at a regular smog shop

Find a stock cat's and buy some used shorty's and hope for the best! One time I had to swap out My fuel pres. reg. to pass so make sure You don't have that problem. Good luck. Did He look under Your car then under Your hood? I run High flow cat's Myself for peace of mind.

Yeah, I'm curious to know exactly what they'll check for...Hopefully it will just be a "visual" and you can bolt on some stock headers and H-pipe... ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif)

About the heads just try to get a D number for it. the cam just don't say anything and hope the dude is an idion. I know for a fact that if your going to go to a ref you need to change your long tubes and put the cats under it.
or make life simple look for a ref that will illegal smog it. Never found one my self but i've heard you can find them. It will cost you about $500???

thanks im just going to put my stock h-pipe back on and some shorties i have laying around also does anybody now if the edelbrock rpm intake comes with a e.o. number

my edelbrock intake has the E.O. number right on it, same with my edelbrock throttlebody

i had a cop look under my cobra at a dui check point. all he said was nice exhaust (off road x pipe). then i went home and changed my pants and washed my seat off.

got caught speeding on carquinez bridge and first words out of cycle cops mouth were nice exhaust too bad its not legal and proceeded to write ticket for modified smog and modified exhaust which i beat cause i didnt have to see ref just went to court and got 2 of 3 but the speedign was nothing i could do about it
