People tell me this car is worth a lot because it has low miles and because its a notchback that most people want.

1986 Ford Mustang 5.0 lx coupe (non-chp)
chp cars are always run hard and abused because its not their own cars.

It has only 53,000 original miles
automatic transmission
clear title
passes smog
super clean interior
wheel locks
carfax in hand
pink slip in hand
chrome ponies
brand new tires
oil change every 2500 miles
power every thing
grant anti theft steering wheel system
stock
5.0 v8 fuel injected
spare tire and jack in trunk
every thing stock
stock original deck
dash is in great condition, soft and not cracked
very very very nice mustang. the best part that most people love about my car is that is has 53,000 miles. its a 4 eyed creature. runs great and super strong. i keep it clean and covered.

a/c and heater work great. night light works.

this coupe is in super great condition. no squeaks no nothing. doors and trunk and fenders all aligned straight and perfect. chrome moldings

I am selling it because I am planning to buy the 2007 cobra.

I would say $7,000 and work down from there. Most people who would be SERIOUSLY interested would be turned off by the newer LX lights and chrome Ponys though. At least put the orginal tail-lights on if ya got 'em. Make sure to post it on the Corral and possibly eBay. Just don't let people low-ball you, you have a VERY nice coupe there! GOOD LUCK!

Sure, why not? He won't get $7K on this site of course, but these cars have a specific following. You know most people offer $1,000 to $1,500 less than the asking price right off the bat. If he places the ad at $5k, you're down to $3,500-$4k already even lower with low-ballers. I've seen orginal 5 speed 86 LX coupes with low miles sell for near that price on the Corral.

Why is a chp worth more? Someone please help me under stand this. Only thing I see holding back top dollar (whatever that may be) is the trans. That thing is super clean-nice.

Edit that car is not one to modify and make newer its to clean.

Don't trip off the haters but to give you some tips I would hit up your quarter window trim with some armor all. Maybe a good stage one wax.

Clean it up and take some better pics and good luck! It took me around 10 months to sell my old droptop.

If you put 7k....you may get it. But you are going to narrow down your audience tremendously. FOr 7k I would expect mods and custom paint....blah...blah.. You'd basically have to find a dude that loved these soooo much because he took his first highschool sweetheart to the prom in one, and now he is depserately trying to find her to express his love and as a last ditch sentimental effort wants to buy a replica of the car that he took her virginity in. And is willing to pay any amount for it. Chances are slim you'd find a dude like that. But it is possible

Also if you put 7k obo....I doubt someone will be lik I'll give you 4k. Most of the time they would be like I'll give 6k 6.5k...something like that.. So if you out 5k obo you might be onto something.

But that is a very nice and well kept stang from the pics there. I'd say keep it.

I say ask whatever you want for it and stick to that. When I put an asking price on a car I have for sale I don't take anything less than $200 off the asking price. If people don't like it they can buy something else. There are a TON! of cars out there for sale and I'll remind them to go look elseware if they can't afford the car.

When I see people asking a lot of money for their POS 87-93's it makes me happy. Make my car look even better and more appealing.

Your car looks good, I personally wouldn't buy it only because its an Auto and I wouldn't spend more than $4000 to buy it even if it was a five speed. Personal preferences.

now how much do I think you could get for it if you waited long enough for the right person... maybe $5K tops IF the person looking doesn't know how to drive a stick but still wants a clean stang...yours is coool. [patriot]

That thing is nice, but FAR from mint.
The AOD factor kills you.

I say $3500-4000 tops if you can find a 4-eye enthusiast. If it was an original 5 speed, maybe $500-1000 more.

Just an opinion from a fellow coupe owner.

drop about 400 into that AOD get a shift kit, or maybe a lentech semi-manual valve body with a nice B&M shifter.....matter of fact make that about 1k get a good Stall with it. Then you can make that AOD look a bit more tasty. AOD's get a bad rap because they are not as fun to drive as sticks.

I would keep that tho man, that is a diamond in the rough and rather rare.
