Is TRC-3 GLAZE

I'm using it on my cruiser right now, and holy crap, I just saved a ton of bucks for a new paintjob

 -
 -

*that line around the front is from a car bra being on the hood for about 2 years.

The car is my girlfriends and looked great when she got it in 2001, now as you can see the paintjob went to shit from being parked outside all the time, the trunklid looks the same, but the sides have stayed perfect.

Over the past 2 years (since problem started) I've tried:

nufinish
polishing compound
rubbing compound
clay bar
cleaner wax (paste and solid based)

Tried both with a buffer and by hand...and multiple brands of them, NOTHING worked, most made it WORSE.

this stuff is awesome, its sold in that silver can in the pics at kragen.

its a bit of a workout as it says to apply it by hand, so my hands are pretty tired right now, the pics I took right after my OMFG it works moment, but right now I've got the hood mostly done and I'm breaking for lunch

how do u wax a car without clear coat?
My bucket needs a paint job.. but since I'm too broke for that, i will have to be content with wax at least.
I heard my car has a stage one paint job.. whatever that means, every time i work on the car i end up with hand prints on the paint... those don't come out easily. i have to use simple green to get them off, i guess that's contributing with the diminishing shine.
Any ideas?

Blind: does that car have clearcoat?

Yeah some mustangs had non clear coat paint. I forget what you do about that. Call a detail shop, they know. My buddy has a red 88 gt vert, and when you dry it off it turns the towels red.

Clay br made it worse? What type of bar did you use and what did you use for lubricant?

Looks good, I guarantee Zymol will do the same thing. My car looked like that, and a friend said that stuff would make it shine like new. I did'nt believe him, but I tried it anyways. He was right!

MMM gonna have to check that out. I used Mothers polishing compound with great success on my old vert. Nearly mirror like but it takes a TON of elbow grease to get it looking good.

Honestly, any product of that type will make paint in that condition look better. Your paint really needs a claybar and high speed rotary buffer treatment. Even a Porter Cable polisher might work.

You would be amazed at what a few good products and tools would do for your finish. BTW, TRC3 is a horrible product in my opinion. Glad you are happy with it though [Cool]

honestly, the clay bar made the paint look WORSE.

what product that gives these results would you consider to be good? I spent 2 years trying everything I could get my hands on that claimed to restore oxidized paint and this is the only stuff I found that works.

I dont have a P/C just a cheap orbital buffer and elbow grease.
