Somebody please do a NO RAIN dance or something for me. I finally have my first track day lined up for Thunderhill on Monday and now they are showing rain! I want to be able to feel how the car handles on a dry track, not slide sideways all over the place. Although, drifting around a big track with only 17 other cars might be pretty fun. However, that is not the reason for me heading up to the big track. I am signed up as a guest with CFRA for 5 30 minute sessions with only 18 cars in our "beginner" group. It should be a blast and a great learning experience with that much track time. They are also supposed to give me an instructor for the first few sessions.

Think no rain, no rain, no rain...

Good luck bro and enjoy! I personally have been fortunate enough to avoid the rain whenever I had a trackday planned so I hope for the best in your situation. Let us know how it goes [patriot]

Sketchy weather sucks. It's not like this is a cheap hobby, so after you invest in hotel, gas, diesel (if applicable) and all the other associated costs - a rain refund just doesn't cut it.

*fingers crossed for OP*

This really sucks. It looks like it will be raining all day. I never even drive this car in the rain!! Now I will be driving it on the track for 2.5 hours in the rain and then at least another 2.5 hours in the rain to get back. I don't want to drive up Monday morning so I will be getting a room so I'll have to add that and gas to the $200 I already put out. So, do I spend $200 to do nothing or around $400 to play in the rain... I really don't want to just throw away that $200 and I am sure I can still learn something even on a wet track.

My car is so clean right now too. It'll take forever to get it this clean after driving in the rain. Why couldn't it just hold out one more day!!!

You might as well do it! They say you learn how to drive better when it's raining, but I feel your pain and not wanting to run on track in wet conditions. It definitely sucks, but hopefully the forecast is wrong. Good luck and take it easy out there!

I learned more in the rain in one day than several days of dry weather driving.
You payed the money so do it! It might dry up enough to form a line, or groove on track. Trust me on this and don't be afraid if you spin, Thunderhill has many forgiving spots to spin especially when your driving slower than when it's dry.
Let us know how it went [dance]
