Here's the video from my final race with the AIX Outlaw crew. Great bunch of guys, great racing, unfortunately my little ones at home need me more than this hobby allows. Car is off to Texas this afternoon to a happy new owner.

And, anybody who tracks their car seriously, racing or not, should think long and hard about building a proper cage and buying all the safety equipment. ANYTHING can happen at the speeds we are going. This video is a testament to that. Steve is a friend with a young family, the safety gear saved his life.

WOW Glad Steve's ok, I know he was worried about rolling but I dunnno why he didn't go both feet in when he got the car straight to try and scrub some speed off

Damn, thanks for posting both videos. I'm still kind of sad that you sold the coupe. Your car gave me the inspiration to believe that an MM setup can be faster than a Griggs or A47 car with SLA and all the other crazy shit those guys have. I'll miss watching your race videos for sure [worship]

And thanks for the crash video...it really shows that proper protection is necessary in a track car. I definitely need to step up to a full cage if I plan to keep doing this sport.

he probably did, I haven't gone off into dirt at 130, but I did around 80 once and my brakes didn't do shit to slow me down, I just had enough runoff area that I was able to slowly bring it back onto the track.

Brakes are not a good idea. There's no traction on dirt. Step on the brakes and the tires lock up. With the tires locked, it's the same resistance regardless what direction it travels meaning the car will travel sideways just as easy as going forward. Off the brakes and the car will want to travel in the direction the tires will roll.

He did the right thing by wanting to ride it out. He just ran out of runoff. A sandpit in that area would have helped.
